OHS CONSULTATION COURSE Course Aim This WorkCover developed course meets the OHS consultation training requirements for OHS committees and representatives as required by the NSW OHS Act and Regulation. It is a short course accredited by the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB). The National Training Information Service (NTIS) Code for this course is 90502NSW. Course Outcomes This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to apply the principles of OHS consultation and OHS risk management as an integral part of an effective OHS management system. There are seven topics in this course, which reflect the NSW OHS Regulation and Code of Practice. 1. Introduction to Workplace Health and Safety 2. The Role of OHS Consultation in the Workplace 3. Effective OHS Consultation in the Workplace 4. Systematic Management of Health and Safety 5. Risk Management Action Learning 6. Continuous Improvement of OHS 7. Summary and Conclusion Target Group This course is designed for OHS committee members or OHS representatives. It may also be customised to meet the training needs of people involved in Other Agreed OHS Consultation Arrangements. The OHS Regulation states that all committee members or representatives must undertake this course as soon as practical after their election or appointment. Entry Requirements There are no pre-requisites or co-requisites for this course. Whilst it is designed for people involved in OHS consultation, other people interested in OHS may apply to participate. This course runs at various times for either individuals or companies. It is conducted as a public course, but can be held at your premises as an exclusive company course if required.
